Allam Appa Rao, a PhD in Engineering, Chartered Engineer (Computer
Engineering) and an elected Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India),
elected Fellow Society for Design and Process Science (USA),2006 Best
Academician Awardee of Andhra University, 2006 and Best Teacher awardee
of Andhra Pradesh Government is one of the world's leading experts in
Computational Biology and Bioinformatics with outstanding contributions
in several areas pertaining to Computer Science and Engineering.
His contributions are noted for clarity, depth and elegance which are
qualities cherished by international bioinformatics community. He
serves as Editorial Board Member (as Reviewer) for the Journal -
International Journal of Modern Engineers (IJME), Editorial Review
Board Member - Academy of Information and Management Sciences Journal (AIMSJ),
Volunteer Editorial Advisory Board and as a reviewer for Scientific
Journal International (SJI)l. He is invited to be a Distinguished

His team developed a device that enables a dumb person to communicate
with the help of Data Glove that converts the signs made by hands into
speech. He has been the Principal and Dean, Andhra University College
of Engineering (AUCE), Visakhapatnam, India. Under his magnificent
leadership, this institution has been taking giant strides towards
national prominence (attaining the status of IIT). He is one of
the few eminent scholars in Trans disciplinary Education and Research,
and also serving on the boards of number of Universities and
Organizations both in India and abroad. Professor Allam Appa Rao
received his early training in Computers from Indian Statistical
Institute, Calcutta and ICTP, Trieste, Italy and obtained his PhD
degree for the work on studies on Computer Performance Evaluation. His
assignments in AUCE include Principal, Dean, Academic Senate Member,
Professor of Computer Science and Systems Engineering (CS&SE), Chairman
- Board of Studies in CS&SE and Head of the Department of CS&SE.
Professor Allam Appa Rao has made lasting contributions to a range of
fields like Bioinformatics, Models of IT, E-Commerce , Software
engineering, Computer Networks, Network Security, OOAD ,
Knowledge management and published more than 60 research papers
and articles on various disciplines. He has authored various
books on Bio-Informatics, Cryptography and Network Security, and
applications of IT an several areas. He was a prolific speaker on
various National and International conferences. He was also honored
with different titles: Best Computer Engineer/Scientist, Best IT
academic and Research pioneer in academic circles. He held several
prestigious positions in renowned organizations like UGC, AICTE, UPSC,
MHRD, DRDO, IEEE, ACM, CSI and ISTE. Also has visited many places in
Europe, USA and Australia on Various academic and interactive programs.
Has completed many sponsored/consultancy projects in various subject
areas for different and most reputed organizations like DOE, DST, MHRD,
UGC, and AICTE. He has been supervising 50 Phds(7 are awarded PhD
degrees) and more than 200 MTech theses. As Principal and Dean
(Academic and Administrative Head of AUCE), he continues to teach
one/tow undergraduate courses at AUCE each year. He gave invited talks
and lectures in Universities throughout India. He is pursuing
collaboration with several of the Universities in USA, Hong Kong,
Germany, Turkey, Sweden and Australia and thus develops
Transdisciplinary Education and Research. He is an academic leader and
committed for development. What ever position he held he has made a
